The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center will hold three children’s nature programs throughout July for kids of all ages.
The first program, “Pond Pals,” will be held on Wednesday, July 1, from 10 am to noon.  Kids will be able to capture frogs, salamanders and other creatures of the pond and learn about what they catch. The second program in the Junior Naturalist series, “Tremendous Trees,” will be held on Thursday, July 9, from 10 am to noon. This program will include a short walk to learn about various trees on the Rensselaer Plateau.  The third program, “Beautiful Birds,” will be held on Thursday, July 16, from 10 am to noon and will cover the many resident bird species found in the Park.
The fee for each session is $3 per child. The event will be held rain or shine. Pre-registration is required, so please call the Center to register your child at 658-2055.
