BCS Reorganizational Meeting

Two new Board Members took their seats on the Berlin School Board at the Reorganizational Meeting on Monday evening, July 10. With District Clerk Mary Grant calling the meeting to order, the first order of business was to administer the oath of office to the new Members Gina Goodermote and John Greene. The Board then reelected Frank Zwack as Board President and Jeffrey Paine as Vice-President. Charlotte Gregory was reappointed Interim Superintendent and Mary Grant was reappointed as District Clerk.
Appointments included the following: Treasurer – John Rizzo; Tax Collector – Tammy Whitman; School Physicians – Riverview Pediatrics for student physicals, Dr. John O’Bryan for bus drivers and On-Call Clinic for all other employees; Purchasing Agent – Provisional Business Manager Sandra Owens; External Auditor – Raymond Preusser; Internal Auditor – Dorfman- Robbie; Claims Auditor – Janice Grant; Attorneys – Whiteman Osterman & Hanna and Kenneth Ritzenburg for Special Education; Petty Cash Custodians – Mary Grant, Gloria Adams, Patty Nash; Records Access Officer and Records Management Officer – Sandra Owens; Health and Safety Designee – School Nurse Teacher Kellie Kaschak.
The Board also approved official depositories and newspapers of record, salaries of substitute teachers and other staff; lists of hearing officers and compliance officers, membership on special education committees and guardians of fund raisers and extra classroom activity funds. They authorized petty cash funds, budget transfers in accordance with District policy and set credit card limits.
The next regular meeting of the Board was set for Tuesday, July 21, at 7 pm at the high school in Cherry Plain.
