Berlin July Fourth Parade Route

The Town of Berlin 2009 July 4th Parade will be held on Saturday, July 4, at 11 am.  This year’s theme is “The Four Seasons,” although it is not a requirement to follow theme.
Prizes
The  Grand Prize is $125.  Other prize categories include theme prize, funniest and prettiest with prizes ranging up to $100. Ribbons are awarded for horses, cars, boats, antique equipment, decorated bicycles, costumed walkers and equestrian groups. Trophies are awarded to the best appearing and the most members in line fire companies.
To participate call 658-2624 or 658-2685. Following the parade, refreshments will be available for all participants at the Berlin Firehouse, compliments of the Berlin Fire Company.
The Route
The parade steps off at the Berlin Elementary School, goes north on School St., left on Park Ave., right on Community Ave, left on Elm St., across Rt. 22 to Main St., left on Main to the south end to Rt. 22, right on Rt. 22, left on Southeast Hollow Road returning to school.
The parade is supported only through the generosity of individual and business donations.  The committee needs your help to continue this hometown tradition for 2010 and beyond.  Please consider making a financial contribution payable to “The July 4th Parade Committee” and mail it to Jane Fitzgerald, P.O. Box 152, Berlin, NY, 12022.
Live Entertainment
For your further entertainment, be sure to join Hill Hollow Band immediately following the parade in the area of the Berlin Firehouse.
We are proud to be the only Independence Day parade in Rensselaer County.  Please bring your family and friends and come celebrate with us.
