On Thursday, July 9, at 1 pm the New Lebanon Library will host “Chickens from Around the World,” presented by Lindsay Kuhn of Smoke Ridge Organics Farm, Bloomfield, NY. The event is for children of all ages and is free.
This program features real live leashed chickens from around the world – Speckled Sussex from England, Blue Andalusians from Spain, Glossy Black Sumatras, Araucana from South America, Cuckoo Maran from France and others that lay different colors and sizes of eggs. Learn the history and unique characteristics of these breeds, along with basic animal husbandry skills. Children can pet the chickens, too!
For further information on this program, please call the New Lebanon Library 518-794-8844. The Library is located at 550 State Route 20, 1/4 mile north of the yellow blinking light at the intersection of Routes 20/22.
