Participants in MentorWorks, the Hoosick Falls mentoring program, visited the Schenectady Museum Suits-Beuche Planetarium on Saturday, July 18. After viewing the many interactive exhibits on the use of electricity and energy, the group watched a planetarium presentation on the moon. This event was one of the many learning explorations participants in
the mentoring program are able to enjoy. There is no cost to adults or students participating; typically lunch is included and transportation home is provided.
As the summer winds down, MentorWorks is looking for additional adults to serve as mentors in the program for the coming year. If you are interested, contact Aelish Nealon at the Hoosick Youth & Community Center, 518-686-9050.
MentorWorks is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, administered by the Hoosick Area Partnership for Parents & Youth. Learning explorations and group activities, however, are funded by local donations and in-kind support from the Hoosick Falls Central School and the Youth & Community Center. Donations to support the program can be sent to HAPPY, c/o Joyce Davis, PO Box 492, Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Please specify your donation is for MentorWorks.
