Peg And Jack Bakaitis Celebrate Their 50th Wedding Anniversary

July 31, 2009 By eastwickpress

Peg and Jack Bakaitis were married on June 20, 1959. “It rained all week,” Peg recalled. “We were having our reception outdoors at the farm. My mother put the Blessed Mother in the window and on Saturday the sun shone!”
After their marriage Peg joined Jack in his travels while serving four years with the Army. Later Jack worked for Lockheed in California, then they returned to the area, and Jack worked for Sprague Electric, Wood Flong and the Rensselaer County Highway Department. Peg worked for New England Telephone and spent 28 years with Hemmings Motor News. Now the two are retired.

They had four children, Michael, Patrick, Jennifer and Peter. Michael and Jennifer are deceased.
“It’s been a roller coaster ride, for sure,” said Peg. “Now we’d like to slow the ride down.”
The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a lavish party at the Immaculate Conception Church Hall on June 14.
