Petersburgh Planning Board Asks For Right Of Way On Rabbit College Road Subdivision

July 31, 2009 By eastwickpress

by Erin Hogan
The Petersburgh Planning Board met on Monday, July 27, to resolve a minor subdivision of a property on Rabbit College Road owned by Geraldine Smith. The lot in North Petersburgh is 62 and a half acres with a subdivision of one lot of 50.75 acres and the other of 11.75 acres to be made.
The site map of the property was passed around, and a problem was soon seen. The Gardner Cemetery is located on the property that will be changing hands in the subdivision, and there will be no clear right of way to get to the cemetery if anyone wants to do so. The Gardner Cemetery is on the new owner’s property.
The Board came to the quick conclusion that a right of way is to be made on the border between the two subdivided pieces of land. This way anyone wanting to go to the Gardner Cemetery can do so. Also, the right of way will ensure that no future subdivisions will be land locked.
