Artwork for the official festival poster of the First Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza was unveiled on Monday evening, July 13, at the MentorWorks Youth Art Show, hosted by Herb and Peg Loretan at 15 John Street Gallery in Hoosick Falls. The art show featured a selection of landscapes painted by program participants.
The watercolor image for the festival poster, Kirby with Pumpkin, was created by artist Harold Lemmerman of Arlington, VT, and will remain on display at the gallery.
Silent auction bids on the original painting, which has been beautifully matted and framed by Peg Caron, are being accepted at the gallery from now through September 25. The highest silent bid will be the opening bid at a live auction on the evening of September 26 at the Harvest Moon Under the Stars dinner. Proceeds of the sale of the painting will benefit MentorWorks. Please stop by the gallery if you would like to see the painting or make a bid. Festival posters are also available for sale at 15 John Street Gallery and at the Youth Center.
MentorWorks is made possible in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The program is administered by HAPPY (Hoosick Area Partnership for Parents & Youth). To learn more about MentorWorks or Pumpkinpalooza, contact Aelish Nealon at the Youth Center, 518-686-9050.
