The public is invited to participate in the Sixth Annual Memorial Ryan and Courtney Motorcycle Run with the proceeds going toward numerous scholarships for local students to take Hudson Valley Community College courses while in Berlin High School. This year the Run will he held on Saturday, August 1, with a rain date of August 2.
Registration for the run starts at Gardner’s Ice Cream Shop at the intersection of Route 43 and 22 in Stephentown at 9 am. The Run starts at approximately 11 am, covers 90 miles in three states and returns to Stephentown at the Firemen’s Pavilion about 1 pm for a lunch of burgers and hot dogs. Beer is available. It is quite a sight to see the more than 400 motorcyclists line up in Gardner’s field and take off. During registration, motorcycle exhibitioners perform for the crowd.
There is a pig roast at 4 pm, live music by Lic Morgan and others, motorcycle games, arm wrestling and hundreds of raffles for the remainder of the day. The donation of $25 per person includes all of the above.
The number of bikes and people in attendance grows annually. Over 1,000 guests are expected for the food and entertainment portion of the day. No motorcycle, no problem. Come to the Pavilion at 1 pm for a day of entertainment.
Our major prize entry this year will be a trailer or a lawn tractor that each $25 ticket holder will be entered to win. Run T-shirts are available for sale all day.
Many volunteers join together each year to make this family event a great success. We hope you can attend and enter to win some wonderful prizes, eat and be entertained.
