The Hoosick Falls School Board set the rates for this year’s tax levy at a 7 am meeting on Monday, August 10. The tax levy remains the same as last year, $8,526,995. This sum is 1.637% of the true market value of all property in the District, which is valued at $520,854,790.
The tax rate for Hoosick is $61.78 per thousand (of assessed valuation), which is an increase of 0.47% over last year’s rate. The rate for Grafton is $204.10 per thousand, an increase of 0.69%. The rate for Petersburgh is $29.50 per thousand, an increase of 0.4%. The rate for Pittstown is $26.62, which is a decrease of 3.79%. The rate for White Creek is $31.48, an increase of 8.07%.
The Board also hired two people at Monday’s meeting. These were Brett Lamy, the new Assistant Principal for the High School and Spanish teacher Gisele Solis.
