John J. Fallon

Berlin – John J. Fallon, 86, of Green Hollow Road, Berlin, NY, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, August 4, 2009. Born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 20,1923, he was the son of the late Peter and Gertrude Fallon. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
John entered the United States Army in November of 1942. He served for two years overseas in the European Theater as a member of the 40th Mobile Communication Squadron. He worked for General Electric Transformer Dept. in Pittsfield for many years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the GE 25 year club.
Mr. Fallon enjoyed working with all kinds of farm equipment especially his tractors. He also enjoyed buying and selling cars, horses and cows.
John is survived by the love of his life for 30 years, Cynthia Skrandis, with whom he resided, his six loving children, Jay Fallon of California, Anthony and his wife Helen of Florida, Timmy and his wife Karen of Boston, MA, Peter of Boston, Marion and her husband John of Keene, NH, and Jennifer of England, eight cherished grandchildren, Christy, Sarah, Kate, Matt, Nickey, Matthew, JJ, Peter and his children’s loving mother – wife, Jane Fallon of Pittsfield, and a brother William of  Massachusetts. He was pre-deceased by three siblings, Peter, Jean and Katherine.
A Liturgy of Christian Death and Burial to celebrate John’s life was held on Monday, August 10, at 1 pm at Sacred Heart Church, Main Street, Berlin. After the services on Monday, a gathering took place at John and Cindy’s home. Inurnment with full military honors took place on Tuesday at 2:30 pm at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
