Area artist Michael Cohen will present a multimedia program entitled “Be Creative: American Landscape Painting in the Northeast” on Thursday, August 27, from 7 to 9 pm at the New Lebanon Library. Cohen will give a history of landscape painting in the Northeastern US, especially New York and the Hudson River Valley, featuring such artists as Edward Hopper, John Singleton Copley, Thomas Cole, John Kensett, Winslow Homer and others. His presentation will be followed by discussion and Q & A. Cohen will also display his own landscapes of New Lebanon and the surrounding area. Light refreshments will follow.
