Letter To The Editor – Death Of My Sister

August 7, 2009 By eastwickpress

Dear Editor,
Florence May Perkins, my sister, of Petersburgh passed away July 6, 2009, At the Hoosick Falls Health Center of a broken heart.  All she wanted was to go home. She also had dementia.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Jean Cofrancisco of Middle Falls. Her companion of 30 years, George (Charlie) Jones of Petersburgh, passed away in 2003.
My brother, Edward Desacia, of Eagle Bridge, and I, of Schenectady, were never called and told that our sister had died or that she was going to be cremated.
To this day we do not know where her ashes are.
The reason I decided to write this letter is that we don’t want anyone you love to be hurt like our sister was.
Many thanks to everyone for all the cards, flowers and phone calls she received when she was alive.
Betty Hyatt, Schenectady
Edward Desacia, Eagle Bridge
