The New Lebanon Book Group has selected The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa for its two upcoming discussions. The first meeting will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, September 10, at The New Lebanon Library, 550 Route #20, New Lebanon. The second discussion of the book will be held at 11 am on Sunday, September 20, at The Hitchcock House B & B on Route #22 in New Lebanon. Area readers are invited to attend either or both discussions.
Author Yoko Ogawa has published more than twenty works of fiction and nonfiction and has won every major Japanese literary award. The novel to be discussed concerns the strange and beautiful relationship that develops between a brilliant math professor, who has lived with only 80 minutes of short term memory since suffering a traumatic head injury, and the young housekeeper who is hired to care for him.
