Kate Mitchell, professional quilter, will share her love of this popular folk style at two programs at the New Lebanon Library. For children, Mitchell will read The Quiltmakers Gift by Jeff Brumeau on Tuesday, August 18, at 1 pm. For adults, she will give a talk that touches on history, trends and lore on Thursday, August 20, at 7 pm. At both events Mitchell will display a number of quilts from her own collection.
Wildlife Presentation
The Library’s Summer Reading Program ends with a bang Wednesday, August 19, at 1 pm. The event features Wildlife Education by Bernie, a live animal presentation that includes European polecats, African hedgehogs and rainforest opossum and wraps up with an ice cream social.
