Ann C. Brown

Hoosick – Ann C. Brown, 86, died Saturday, September 5, 2009, at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. She formerly resided in Hoosick, NY, and was the wife of the late William C. Brown Sr., who died in 1986.
Born on May 13, 1923, in Troy, NY, Ann was the daughter of the late Frederick and Alice (Clayton) Cavin. She was educated at Troy High School and was a homemaker all of her life. Ann was a member of the Hoosick Baptist Church, where she was also a member of the Women’s Club, the Hoosick Grange and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she was a Past President. She enjoyed reading and crafts.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice B. Hahn and husband Harvey of Cambridge, NY, her sons, Frederick Brown of North Carolina, William C. Brown Jr. and wife JoAnne of Hoosick Falls, NY, Paul Brown of Okala, Nebraska, and Matthew Brown and wife Laura of North Carolina. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by her husband, a daughter, Barbara Brenenstuhl, a son, Mark Brown, a grandson, John Howard Brown, and a brother, William Cavin.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 9, at 4 pm from the Hoosick Baptist Church on South Street in Hoosick. Burial followed the service at Woodlands Cemetery in Cambridge. Relatives and friends called at the Church on Wednesday from 3 pm to the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hoosick Baptist Church through the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, who are handling the arrangements.
