Community support for the first Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza has been very strong, judging from the number of local businesses who have decided to sponsor the event. Most major sponsorship opportunities have been taken and additional support in the form of donations and volunteers continues to be received daily. The festival is being planned for the weekend of September 26.
Among the community businesses that have stepped forward to make the festival possible are Festival T-shirt Sponsor – Vermont Veterans Home, Punkin’ Chunkin Sponsors – Glens Falls Hospital and Mahar Funeral Home, 5K Road Race Sponsor – WCW, Inc., Festival Cookbook Sponsor – Baker Insurance Agency, Chili Cook-off Sponsors – Stewart’s Ice Cream Company, Ken Facin (HFCS Superintendent) and Hoosick Federal Credit Union, Wagon Ride Sponsor – Falls Diner, Youth Fun Run Sponsor – Nature’s Closet, Youth Muster Sponsor – TJ Memorials, and Festival Shopping Bag Sponsor – Tinkham Real Estate.
Several businesses are sponsoring entertainment in Wood Park, including Falls Diner, Denim & Deeds Real Estate, Local Food Pros, Man of Kent and Artistic Hair Designs/Nirvana Day Spa. In addition, various games and contests will be sponsored by Blue Flame Gas, the Derby Club and Delurey Sales & Service.
Gold ($100) and Silver ($50) sponsors have also come forward to support the Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza. A few sponsorship opportunities remain including one chili cook-off sponsorship. For information, call Beth or Aelish at 518-686-9050, or email contact@hoosickyouth.org.
Harvest Moon Sponsors
Several businesses are also generously sponsoring the Harvest Moon Under the Stars dinner dance which is planned for September 26 and will benefit MentorWorks and the Hoosick Falls Health Center. The primary dinner sponsor is Stewart’s Ice Cream Company. Table sponsors include Cambridge Valley Machining, Sternberg & Gorman, Marshall & Sterling Insurance and Trustco Bank. Many businesses and individuals are also contributing silent and live auction items. Two major sponsorship opportunities are still available and auction items are welcome. Call Joyce Davis at 518-686-0221 if you wish to support the dinner dance.
Volunteers Needed
To manage a festival of this size, volunteer support is needed, so if you cannot make a financial donation, perhaps you could donate some time. Help is needed during the week prior to the festival, at the festival and the following day for clean-up. If you are interested in participating and showing your support for this event, please call Carlane Riston, volunteer coordinator, at 518-686-9050.
