The New Lebanon Library will host Safe Aromatherapy for Personal Use on Thursday, September 17, at 7 pm. Dawn Collins will provide an introduction to the art and science of aromatherapy, the history and appropriate methods of use and safety precautions.
The program, oriented to both teens and adults, will provide an explanation of carrier oils, essential oils, flower essences, single notes and blends, where they come from and how they are made. There will be a display of types of actual diffusers and information about nebulizers and techniques of use. Participants may create a blend combining essential oils and an organic lotion or cream to use as a body or hand lotion.
