• Sept. 13 – 3 pm. “The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate” – a puppet show by Grian MacGregor’s Ivy Vine Players. This one woman show with a cast of charming puppet characters is back by popular demand with her new play based on a book by New Zealand author Margaret Mahy. MacGregor is founder, spokesperson, creator of each puppet and prop and the only human member of the troupe. MacGregor’s unique approach to puppetry uses puppets made from 100% recycled materials. Come join us for an exciting show designed to captivate the young and the young at heart. Free and open to the public.
• Sept. 17 – 2 to 4 pm. Tim Gordon, NYS Assembly, 108th district will hold his “Mobile District Office” at the N. Chatham Library and will be available to discuss your questions, concerns, and comments.
• Sept. 26 – 5:30 to 9:30 pm is the Travelling Dinner at the N. Chatham Library. The N. Chatham Library will hold its annual “Travelling Dinner” starting with cocktails, moving on to the host families for dinner and concluding with dessert back at the library. There is a charge for this event. Please call the Library at 766-3211 for further information and to sign up.
• October 4 – 3 pm. Family Concert “Let Your Heart Sing” with John Farrell. John is an award-winning singer/songwriter who creates educational and irresistibly entertaining programs for children and families. He is well-known for his international program Bridges of Peace and Hope, and has performed throughout the US and around the world. Free and open to the public.
Recurring Programs
• Computer help is available at the N. Chatham Library on Mondays at 3 pm.
Also, a 2 session computer introduction class, sponsored by The Bank of Greene County, is being planned for November. Please call the Library for further information and to sign up as class size will be limited.
• Knitting Club, ‘Drop one, add two,’ will be resuming and will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 6 to 8 pm.
For Kids
• “Storytime” at the North Chatham Free Library will be held on Wednesday mornings at 11 am starting on October 7. Stories will be from a variety of beautiful picture books and suitable for ages 3 to 5.
