Paving In Stephentown

Doug Griswold, driving a Stephentown Highway truck, feeds a Gorman Brothers paving machine with cold mix asphalt in a project this week to pave about four tenths of a mile of Calvin Cole Road from Route 43. Rensselaer County and the Towns of Berlin and Sand Lake helped out providing trucks and drivers to help haul the asphalt. Highway Superintendent Aldie Goodermote said Brainard Road has also been paved but this will be the last paving job for this year. He still has some chip sealing to do on roads not determined yet because the recent flooding has forced a reshuffling of priorities. (David Flint photo)
