Pumpkinpalooza 5K

September 25, 2009 By eastwickpress

Attention Runners! There is still time to enter the first Hoosick Pumpkinpalooza 5K Road Race. This event kicks off from Wood Park at 9 am on Saturday, September 26, in Hoosick Falls.
The challenging route winds its way through the village before returning to the park. This will be a professionally run race with chip timing, thanks to the assistance of Albany Runners Exchange. Same day registration is available. The first 200 registrants will receive a free Pumpkinpalooza T-shirt and a gift bag.
The road race is sponsored by WCW, Inc. and is only a part of the many festivities offered throughout the day as part of this community-wide celebration.
A Fun Run for the kids, sponsored by Nature’s Closet, will be held at 10 am. Children 11 and under are invited to run from Wood Park to the Town Athletic Fields, just in time to watch the Punkin Chunkin. Ribbons will be presented to the first 50 finishers.
For more information about the race and a schedule of Pumpkinpalooza events, please visit www.hoosickyouth.org or call 686-9050.
