September 25, 2009 By eastwickpress

Members of the First Baptist Church of Hoosick Falls are pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Thomas Azar has arrived as their interim pastor.
At the young age of eleven, Dr. Azar felt the call from God to be a missionary.  He began by attending religious schools, youth retreats and by working regularly atch-azur welcomed church as a volunteer.  He later worked in an inner city church in Atlanta, where he was ordained in 1979.  He worked in soup kitchens, with youth groups and was a hospital and police chaplain.  He served as a United States Air Force Chaplain for 23 years fulfilling his dream to become a foreign missionary.  After deploying to and serving at numerous military installations all over the world, Dr. Azar said, “The world was my parish!”  Of interim ministry he said, it is “a continued opportunity in the next best season of my life to serve and be used by God to build up His family while in transition; to give back the blessing I have been afforded and to meet new opportunities and people in a growthful, honorable and engaging way.”
First Baptist is located at 80 Main Street in Hoosick Falls where the Sunday Worship Service is at 10:15 am and Sunday School for all ages begins at 9 am.  Come and welcome Rev. Azar to Hoosick Falls.
