Joan M. Jones

Berlin – Joan M. Jewett Jones, 69, of Route 22, Berlin, NY, died on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington, VT.
Born in Cohoes, NY, on December 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold F. and Dorothy Leonard Jewett. A graduate of Berlin Central High School, Joan lived and was raised on Dyken Pond Road. She had worked for New Yorkob-joan jones Telephone in Albany, NY, Jewett Logging of Berlin and the Town of Berlin Highway Department. Most recently she worked locally in a domestic capacity. Joan was an avid gardener.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda A. Jones of Bennington, VT, Wendy L. Magin of Colonie, NY, her loving companion of 25 years, Walter Ruebel of Berlin, her siblings, Kenneth Jewett, Ronald and wife Marge Jewett and Beverly and husband Abe Hoffman, all of Berlin, three grandchildren, Jeremy Siller and Angie and T.J. Maroney, along with a dear friend, Eleanor Whitney of Berlin.
Graveside services were held on Monday, October 5, at 11 am in the Berlin Community Cemetery, Route 22, Berlin. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. Arrangements are under the direction of the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home of Petersburgh, NY.
