Melissa Hake Receives Masonic Scholarship

Melissa Hake of Berlin recently received a scholarship from the Grand Lodge and Trustees of Free and Accepted Masons of the State of New York. In the New York Masonic Education Assistance Program, qualifying children, grandchildren and widows of Masons are eligible to receive assistance. million dollars, to worthy students. Grants totaling more than 7 million dollars have been awarded to more than 9,000 students since the program began thirteen years ago.
Masonry – or Freemasonry – is the oldest and largest fraternal organization in the world, numbering more than 50,000 Masons in New York and more than two million Freemasons in North America. Freemasonry is dedicated to the brotherhood of man under the fatherhood of God and uses tools and implements of ancient architectural craftsmen symbolically in a system of instruction designed to build character and moral values in its members.
