The Pioneer Fish and Game Club held its annual banquet and election of officers at its Potter Hill club grounds on September 20. Since some awards were to be acknowledged, guests at the banquet were New York State Conservation Council President Harold Palmer and his wife Sandy and V. P. of the Rensselaer County Conservation Alliance, Tom Agar.
Sportsman Conservationist of the Year of Rensselaer County was awarded to Patrick Bakaitis. Other award recognitions were for outstanding merit awards which were presented to Dick Ogden and Ed Sukuskas by the Director of the National Trapping Association, Jim Carmody, on behalf of the New York State Trapping Association, for their many years of never-ending devotion, dedication and support of trapper education since 1973. Presentation was at the NYSTA Convention, held in Frankfort, NY.
The day ended with a traditional pig roast enjoyed by the 60-plus members.
