Searching for Noah’s Umbrella

October 23, 2009 By eastwickpress

What do the places of Minnesota, Mexico and Turkey all have in common? They are the places that the illustrious Minnesota Cuke visits while searching for Noah’s Umbrella in his new Veggie Tales hit movie, of course! Coincidentally, approximately 50 children, smaller ones with help from their families, also had the opportunity to visit these wonderful places on Friday, October 2, at the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church.
Prior to the movie and with a Top Secret Movie Passport as a guide, each child was asked to carry out a simple but silly task at three decorated locations complemented with appropriate background music. Once the task was completed, they were given an item required for the evening of fun, a Minnesota Cuke hat following a fishing excursion in Minnesota,

a Veggie Tales cup following a cactus ring toss in Mexico and finally a mini-umbrella with the movie’s Bible verse message following an umbrella snow ball toss in Turkey. All three treasures were required to be checked in to the movie. Similar to Minnesota Cuke, their mission and lesson was simple – by following the instructions exactly as they were given and doing what was right with confidence and without the fear of how others might react, they were promised all the necessary treasures for an evening full of fun.
The free movie and evening was filled with quirky antics and audience laughs. Guests also took delight in a peculiar mix of cookies, gummy worms, grape juice and ice cream from an umbrella cart as highlighted in the movie. What a silly success! Join us for our next free family evening on Friday, November 20.
