We Need You In Our Cemetery… Association, That Is

October 2, 2009 By eastwickpress

The Grafton Center Cemetery Association is in need of new members. If you have an interest in keeping the burial place of our loved ones a tranquil and well-kept area, please join our Cemetery Association. Together we try to keep up to date on regulations while also following them properly, to keep the cemetery mowed and free of debris and to follow up if problems occur. We also try to maintain a sufficient fund balance to cover the expenses we incur and will incur in years to come. This is a challenge due to the declining availability of plots for sale, which also means declining income.
We usually hold only two meetings per year during which we discuss these issues and anything else that may come up and plan for the upcoming season. We elect officers during the October meeting. Meeting these responsibilities shouldn’t take up much time for any one person, but it takes longer when we have only a few members to handle it all.
Remember, many hands make light work.
Won’t you consider joining us for our October meeting this year? It will be held on Wednesday, October 7, at 6:30 pm at the Grafton Methodist Church. It will help us out, and you’ll be doing something good for your community that won’t take up a huge amount of your time.
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please call our Secretary, Leanna Sweet, at 279-1386.
