Both the Bowmans are former teachers. Pat led the Program Committee for more than 20 years and was responsible for the many, many interesting programs that have drawn people to the Heritage Center from as far away as Troy, Pittsfield and Lenox. Don is a Past President and his knowledge of railroads and the Rutland Railroad in particular, along with his sparkling sense of humor, have enlivened many a Historical Society meeting.

They expressed regret at leaving Stephentown and the Berkshires but are now in the process of relocating to Ohio to be closer to family. Leaving behind the beautiful, rambling old colonial house just across the state line in Hancock, where for many years they ran a Bed ‘n Breakfast inn, the Bowmans will be moving to a much smaller house near Cleveland that is all on one floor. It has a large basement, however, that Don has already staked out for his model railroad setup.
