Girl Scouts Recycle

Cadette Girl Scout Troop 1174 from Berlin Middle School has decided to continue and to expand the Battery Recycling Project that Troop 1371 started last year. They will be collecting used household batteries which will be recycled at Rensselaer County’s Hazardous Waste Recycling Days. Also accepted are old cell phones (not household phones) and used ink cartridges which will be donated to local fund raisers. Troop 1174 has placed boxes at the Berlin Free Library, Stephentown Memorial Library, Bank of America in Berlin, Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin and Stephentown Town Hall.
Cadette Troop 1174 will take this project a step further and plans to investigate the hazards of not recycling and to educate the Community on the benefits of recycling.
