John Harrington

White Creek – John Harrington, 57, died on Monday, November 16, 2009, at his residence on Lincoln Hill Road in White Creek, NY. He was the husband of the late JoAnne (Sprague) Harrington, who died on April 18, 2009.
Born on October 16, 1952, in Cambridge, NY, John was the son of the late Robert C. and Dolores (Nimons) Harrington. He graduated from Hoosick Falls High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and was a drummer in marching band. John worked in the shipping department at ADC in North Bennington, VT. He enjoyed working around his house, hunting, his cat and time spent with his wife JoAnne.
Survivors include his son Marc Carroll and Angelia of Portales, NM, two sisters, Sandy McCart and Sue Hickey and husband John, both of Hoosick Falls, NY, three brothers, Robert Harrington of Ft. Myers, FL, Bill Harrington and wife Kathy of Buford, GA, and Peter Harrington and wife Karen of St. Johnsonville, NY, his special friend, Bob “Benny” Benkoski of Hoosick Falls, three grandchildren, Brandon, Ayla and Jayden Carroll, a sister-in-law, Sandy “Snookie” Harrington of Hoosick Falls, and several nieces and nephews. John is pre-deceased by a brother, Gerald Harrington, who died in 2003.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, November 20, at 11 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow at the Center White Creek Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Church from 10 am until the start of the Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.
