John Rosenburg Sr.

Hoosick Falls – John A. Rosenburg Sr., 67, died peacefully at his residence on Rogers Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY, surrounded by his loving family. John and his wife Barbara (Jones) Rosenburg were devoted to one another for forty-three years of marriage.
Born on March 3, 1942, in Williamstown, MA, John was the son of the late Floyd and Philomena “Mae” (Donato)ob-rosenburg Rosenburg. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving two tours, one in Vietnam, and received the rank of Sergeant. John worked at the Eveready Battery Company in Bennington, VT, as a quality control engineer until retiring in 2004. John was a member of the American Legion Post # 40 in Hoosick Falls. He was a Civil War buff, enjoyed gardening and genealogy and traveling with his wife. He had a witty humor and was a vivid story teller. John was very giving and open to his family and enjoyed the time he spent with them, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Barbara, their children, Lori Willis and her fiancé Jack Kalmar of Trumbull, CT, Jeff Babson and wife Sue and John Rosenburg and wife Rhonda, all of Hoosick Falls, grandchildren Jonathan and Elizabeth Babson, Victorianna, Emily and Hannah Rosenburg, sisters Jean Wimpenny of Washington, MA, and Helen Kaiser and husband Clayton of Williamstown, brother, Floyd Rosenburg of North Adams, MA, and special niece Pam Lee and her family. John is also survived by several nieces and nephews and pre-deceased by a sister, Lila Ethier.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 21, at 10 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will follow the service at the Hoosick Rural Cemetery in Hoosick, NY. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 to 8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad or the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center through the funeral home.
