Hoosick Falls – Milton R. Brownell, 81, died November 11, 2009, due to a short illness. He had resided on High Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, with his wife of 59 years Stella (Ducker) Brownell.
Born on September 11, 1928, in West Hoosick, NY, Milton was the son of the late Raymond and Ethel (LeBarron) Brownell. He was educated in West Hoosick. He was employed by Oak Industries and Allied Signal in Hoosick Falls for thirty eight years retiring in 1998. Milton also worked for Baker’s Nurseries for over sixty years and the Harold Hill farm for many
years. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, washing his vehicles, going to fairs, watching wrestling, listening to music and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors other than his wife include his three daughters, Diana and husband William Cottrell of Hoosick Falls, Donna Sanders of Albany, NY, Denise and husband Steven Perry of Niskayuna, NY, four grandchildren, Case and wife Karen Cottrell of San Angelo, TX, Jennifer and husband Chad Brownell of Canton, OH, Seth and wife Kellsey Cottrell of Vancouver, Canada, and Shane and Cole Perry of Niskayuna. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Douglas, Michael, Case, Cella, Ann Marie, Madison, Mallory, Charlie, Brady and Nikolas, his three sisters, Helen Filkins of Latham, NY, Gladys and husband Stanton Goodermote of Berlin, NY, and Shirley Cottrell of Hoosick Falls, his three brothers, Malcom, Kenneth and Charles and wife Kaye Brownell, all of Hoosick Falls, his aunt, Anna Ward of Troy, NY, and his uncle Leverett LeBarron of Potter Hill, NY, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many cousins.
Funeral service were held at the West Hoosick Baptist Church on Saturday, November 14, at 2 pm. The burial followed the service at the West Hoosick Rural Cemetery. Relatives and friends called at the West Hoosick Baptist Church on Saturday from 12 pm to the time of the service.
