Once Again … Everyone Is A Winner At Fall Festival!

November 20, 2009 By eastwickpress

On Saturday, October 17, the HFCS PTA held its ninth annual Fall Festival and is pleased to report it was a grand success. HFCS was bustling with more than 400 people and bursting with spirit with vendors selling their wares, kids doing craft projects, young and young-at-heart dancing the “cake walk,” a ghoulishly fun “Haunted Hall,” folks tapping their feet to the HFCS Jazz Band, a solo performance by Lacy LaCroix and everyone enjoying baked goods and the vibrant atmosphere.
The quality of the featured raffle items was once again extraordinary, and the winners of them were quite pleased – a handmade quilt made by Anne Reynolds Copps, won by Austin St. Hilaire, a Will Moses print with custom framing donated by Peg Caron, won by Skip Teker, a fire pit, won by Jill Hayden and a “Dine in – Dine out” package of gift certificates from local restaurants and New Country Value Foods, won by Patty Post. The $100 gas card was awarded to Marybeth LaFlamme.
Other winners were Shannon Wickenden, who won the 50-50 raffle, and Amy Netti and Liz Poitras, who guessed the closest weight of the giant pumpkin. And we shouldn’t forget all the people who won the door prizes offered by the vendors. The ultimate winners, though, are the students of HFCS and our community. The PTA is pleased to PTA continue its financial support of classrooms and to bring special programs to the children and parents in our school district.
The PTA would like to extend thanks to all the local businesses and groups who offered their support, talents, and products. And a special thanks to the students involved in the Panthers Football Team, Youth Impact Team, Youth Summit Team, National Honor Society, and Key Club for their great work with setting up and running the kids’ activities. In addition, the PTA couldn’t get the festival off the ground each year without the tireless efforts of its many dedicated volunteers and the generous support of the vendors and school personnel.
