PVMCC News

November 13, 2009 By eastwickpress

The last Music & Art Café of the year will be Friday, November 20, at 7 pm with Karen Webster & Friends (Martha VonSchilgen and Leslie Green). The Board of PVMCC is pleased to announce that Nora Lamphere is the new Music & Art Café Coordinator. She has a natural creative spark that will bring wonderful changes to this program.
Tables are still available for the December 5 craft sale. Local crafters are offering a variety of homemade gifts that will become treasured gifts. Call PVMCC at 658- 3260 to reserve a space.
There were some questions about walking at the Petersburgh Veterans Memorial Community Center each weekday morning. There is no charge to walk, and there are walking weights and pedometers available. Twenty trips around the hall equals a mile. Most folks who walk now enjoy weaving in crazy directions to keep it interesting and time themselves for 20-30 minutes. Marching music played on a CD invigorates the walkers to keep going.
The Café only has continental type breakfast foods although occasionally a volunteer will cook a full breakfast. Pearl Koch always makes a homemade coffee cake or two, and Ann Schnoop makes a healthy breakfast snack. The mysterious muffin man and his lovely elves bring pastries every morning. Coffee and goodies at the Café is free for veterans.
