Raechel Lee Lathrop

Petersburgh – Raechel Lee Lathrop, 33, of Shushan, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT.  Born July 28, 1976, in Cambridge, NY, Raechel was the daughter of Irene Madison of Shushan and Raymond “Skip” Lathrop of Hebron, NY.  Raechel was a 1994 graduate of Salem Washington Academy. Her passion was spending time with her two children.  She enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding motorcycles as well.  Raechel also loved to dance and make others laugh; she enjoyed spending time with other members of her family as well.  For the last year she had worked at R.C. Pembroke & Sons in North Bennington, VT.
In addition to her parents, Raechel is survived by her two children, Hannah Marie Gardner and Matthew Alan Gardner, both of North Petersburgh, NY, a sister, Krista Dawley-Gregg of Salem, NY, a brother, Travis Lathrop of Shushan, the love of her life, D.J. Lingener and his daughter Kayla of North Petersburgh, her nieces, Shalyn Scribner, Sage Gregg and Laken Gregg, and a nephew, Cole Gregg.  Raechel is also survived by her extended family, Shirley Flavin, Mike and Tammy Flavin, Kianna Flavin, Kayla Flavin, Kim Lingener, Lynn and Jason Dunteman, Dawn Flavin, Danielle and Duncan Thompson.  Raechel is also survived and loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by D.J.’s father, Darius Lingener, Jr.
Funeral services were held at 6 pm on Sunday, November 8, at the McClellan Funeral Home, 19 East Broadway, Salem, with Rev. Debbie Earthrowl officiating.  Family and friends were invited to attend and also call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 6 pm prior to the funeral service.
Memorial contributions in memory of Raechel may be made to a trust fund in the name of her children, Hannah Marie Gardner and Matthew Alan Gardner, C/O TD Bank, Main St., Salem, NY, 12865.
