Season Preview
The Hoosick Falls Bowling team has both experienced bowlers and upcoming JV bowlers from last year who are ready to contend for the Adirondack League title. Last year they finished in second place in the Southern Division of their league and second place in the year-ending League Tournament. From there they went on to win the Section II C-D title for the second time in three years. There are four members back from that sectional team – Jake Colliano – Captain – senior, Chris Pelletier – junior, Mitchell Andrew – sophomore and Joe Wolfrum – sophomore. Bryan Callahan, a returning freshman, has secured a starting position with some great scores during practice in the past few weeks. There are four members of last year’s team contending for the remaining starting position – Patrick Mulvihill – senior, James Lynch – junior, Cody LaFlamme – sophomore and Josh Conn – freshman. The competition among these four bowlers is really close from practice to practice to see who will start the next match. If they don’t start, they will be ready to be called up during the match. This depth is what makes the team so strong. Others who are back from last year working hard to improve their game are Jordan Colvin – sophomore, Peter O’Neil – senior and Mikaela Marbot – sophomore. Newcomers to the team this year are Nick Jones – sophomore, Charlie Stowell – sophomore, Josh Reveal – freshman and Kenneth Marbot – seventh grade.
“The team has been working very hard preparing for the season. They know that they must take each match one at a time. They must be very patient especially when bowling on away lanes. I’m very excited about the prospects the team has to succeed this year. They are a great bunch of kids that are very coachable. Jake Colliano will be a great captain to lead the team. He has been on the team for six years and can pass that experience on to the younger bowlers. Joe Wolfrum finished the year with a great performance at Sectionals which qualified him to bowl at States in Rochester. He, along with Chris Pelletier and Mitchell Andrew, bring great experience back to make a good run at the league and sectional titles. It will take a lot of hard work and patience for the team to succeed this year. I feel that the team is up to the challenge,” said Coach Lang.

“Stillwater had some great scores but we won the match with our depth on the team. We won the first and second games by just 42 pins each and then won the last game by 102 pins. The match could have gone either way going into the last game. The team continued to be patient, made adjustments as the lanes changed and finished well to win the last game and finish with all four points for the win. This was a great team win with everyone bowling some great scores. We have another big match on Thursday against Hoosic Valley on their lanes. I hope the kids continue to bowl well,” said Coach Lang.
