The Satchel Is Passed

December 23, 2009 By eastwickpress

submitted by Mary Lou Walters
Marie Snyder who was President of the Berlin Seniors for many years passed away this month. Despite being ill, she bravely planned her last year of senior trips from her hospital bed and then with tremendous fortitude led all but one. After she completed her last trip and arranged for new elections to be held at the Christmas party, she finally rested.
At the party, the officers found she had prepared gifts for each of her officers. Carol, who has worked very hard for the seniors this year, received a gift and thank you note from Marie as well. It was as if she knew that her beloved job would be going into Carol’s capable hands.

The Satchel is passed from acting President Walter Walters to newly elected Carol Saunders. The officers for the Berlin Senior Citizens were elected at the 2009 Christmas Party. They are Walter Walters, Vice President, Carol Saunders, President. Dot Sloan, Treasurer, and Betty Hartnett, Secretary. Photo by Mary Lou Walters.
