Wish To Pass A Huge Success

December 4, 2009 By eastwickpress

On Friday, November 20, the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church hosted its third annual Wish to Pass celebration. This year we toned down the number of activities and incorporated the latest Veggie Tale video into our evening. The event started at 6:30 pm with the packing of Operation Christmas Child boxes.  There were stations throughout the fellowship hall for wrapping boxes, packing hygiene items and toys and a quality control check.  Completed boxes were carried into the Church so that they could be prayed over on Sabbath morning. Donuts and cider were available as boxes were packed.

One hundred twenty-six boxes were packed for Operation Christmas Child as part of the Wish to Pass Celebration.

A little before 7:30 the group moved into the Church and the Veggie Tale video “Saint Nicholas” was shown. The video emphasized the importance of giving to others, which is the whole theme behind the Wish to Pass activities. At the end of the event the children received take home goodies, and families were offered advent activities to use during the Christmas season.
This was our biggest Wish to Pass event to date with approximately 120 people in attendance, 126 boxes packed and $170 dollars raised to help with shipping costs for Operation Christmas Child.  It was a crazy night, but it was a huge success and an opportunity to be reminded of the true meaning behind Christmas.
