Edwin B. Dezendorf Jr.

Hoosick Falls – Edwin B. Dezendorf Jr., 77, died on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center where he has been a resident since June of 2009. He formerly resided on Wilson Hill Road in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Born on June 23, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, Edwin was the son of the late Edwin B. and Adele (Kleindienst) Dezendorf Sr. He was educated at schools in Queens, NY, State University College, New Paltz, NY, and Hofstra University where he received his Masters Degree in Teaching. Edwin was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1951 to 1955. He taught school at Malverne Jr. High School from 1957 until retiring in 1987, when he moved to Hoosick Falls. Edwin was a member of the American Legion Post # 1132 in Seaford, Long Island. He enjoyed mowing his lawn, hosting dinner parties and spending time with his dogs and family.
Survivors include his nephew, Edward Wendel and his wife Rose and family, Duane Knapp, Corbyn Knapp, all of Bennington, VT, nephew, William Wendel of Albany, NY, and sister-in-law, Rita Wendel of Hoosick Falls.
Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Falls Health Center or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
