Francis Gardner

Berlin – Francis J. Gardner of  Kinderhook, NY, formerly of Ghent, NY, died Monday, December 28, 2009, at Community Hospice at Albany Memorial Hospital.
Born August 15, 1935, in Berlin, NY, Mr. Gardner was the son of the late Clayton and Nellie (Ward) Gardner.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving from 1953 to 1956 and was employed with New York State Electric & Gas in  Chatham, NY, for 34 years. He was a member of the Columbia Lodge #98 F.&A.M. of Chatham.
Mr. Gardner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Catherine (Snyder) Gardner, of Kinderhook, his son, Francis J. Gardner Jr. of Keymar, MD, his daughters, Janice Kelsey of Saratoga Springs, NY, and Lynda Peer and husband William of Saranac, NY, his grandchildren, Greg and Jeremy Kelsey, Chloe, Quin and Phoebe Peer, his brother, Allyn Gardner, Punta Gorda, FL, and his sister, Grace Karwell of Watervliet, NY. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is pre-deceased by a son, David Allen Gardner, brothers, Clayton and Claude Gardner, and sisters, Marion Goodermote and Lorna Champine.
