Literacy Bags Available

The Cheney Library of Hoosick Falls has developed some Literacy Bags for preschool children and their parents. The home is the child’s first classroom, and parents are the first teachers. Parents who read to their children everyday and talk about what they are reading together promote a joy of reading and literacy achievement. An example of one bag is Time for Sleep by Mem Fox. In this bag is the book, plus finger puppets of all of the animals, so that parents and children can act out the story. There is also a laminated card listing additional activities that can be done with this book.
The Literacy Bags are a great way to reinforce the love of reading in a fun way. So come in soon and check one out or any of the other marvelous items that Cheney Library has to offer.
