The second program in a month long Wildlife Tracking Series will be held on Saturday, January 9, from 9 am until 4 pm at the Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center. This all day adventure will be led by Dan Yacobellis, founder of Tamakoce Wilderness Programs. Participants can expect to spend the entire day outdoors finding animal tracks, other sign and learning how to read the stories that animals leave behind in the snow. Commonly found tracks include coyote, fox, deer, moose, bobcat, mink, fisher and porcupine. Lunch will be fireside at midday. There is a fee of $30 or $25 for members for this program.
Also, on Tuesday, January 12, there will be an evening slideshow and discussion on various animal sign that you can look for on your outdoor excursions.
