Anita E. Hallock

Hoosick Falls – Anita E. Hallock, 87, died on Saturday, February 13, 2010, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She had resided at the Danforth Adult Home in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Eugene Hallock who died on February 17, 1999. They were married on June 6, 1947. She and her husband formerly resided in Buskirk, NY.
Born on March 6, 1922, in the Bronx, NY, Anita was the daughter of the late George and Grace (Schoeffel) Reichert. She worked as a seamstress at the Reis Mill in Cambridge, NY. Anita was one of the original members of the Buskirk Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a former communicant of St. Monica’s Church in Buskirk, where she was a member of the Alter & Rosary Society. Anita enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Grace Hallock of Shushan, NY, Catherine McGuire of Latham, NY, and Mary Hallock of Cambridge, and her sons, Michael Hallock of Gansevoort, NY, and Tom Hallock of Buskirk. She is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is pre-deceased by three sisters, Ethel Ward, Grace Reichert and Beatrice Jacob, and two brothers, George and Edmund Reichert.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial offered on Thursday February 18, at 12 pm from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial is at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY, at 2 pm. There were no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, 12090. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Association of the Blind at Albany through the funeral home.
