Hilda G. Goyer

Grafton – Hilda Gundrum Goyer, 77, of County Route 85, Grafton, NY, died on Sunday evening, February 14, 2010, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Grafton on June 12, 1932, she was the daughter of Charlotte Coonradt Momrow of Troy and the late George Gundrum. She was the loving wife of Robert G. Goyer Sr., whom she married on October 23, 1982, in the Grafton United Methodist Church.
A lifelong resident of Grafton, Hilda graduated in 1950 from Berlin Central High School. She married and started her family after graduation. In 1960 she began her career as a secretary at the Grafton Elementary School. She then worked at Legenbauer Gas and Oil in Averill Park, NY, for over 10 years, Prudential Insurance in Troy and for over 20 years she was employed at Capital Mutual Insurance of West Sand Lake, NY, retiring in 1998 as Vice-President of claims. She was a member of the Grafton Historical Society, the Grafton Cemetery Association and various committees within the Grafton United Methodist Church.  She was a former member of the PTA of the Berlin School District and was the Town Historian for the Town of Grafton. In 2007 Hilda received an honor from the Rensselaer County Legislature for her “Service to the Community.” Her hobbies included quilting, sewing and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 27 years, Robert G. Goyer Sr., her children, Tonya L. and husband Warren Kuchenbecker of Poestenkill, NY, Terry L. and wife Nancy Lamphere of Petersburgh, NY, Bradley L. Lamphere of  Washington Co., Robert (who had been married to the late Bertha), Bruce and his wife Delinda and Brian Goyer all of Grafton, siblings, Virginia and husband George Horne of Greenwich, NY, Rynard and his wife Lois Gundrum of Grafton, Gordon and his wife Joan Gundrum of Petersburgh, Rita and her husband James Smyth of Burden Lake, NY, George Gundrum of Florida, Peter and Jerry Gundrum of Grafton, Susan and husband Wayne Dayton of Cropseyville, NY, Sally Moon of Stephentown, NY, Chuck and John and Suzanne Momrow of Taborton, NY, grandchildren, Derek and Jayson Fulton, Rebekah L. Hartman, Kyle, Eliza and Nora Lamphere, Dorian and Nascha Lamphere, Andrew, Marlinda and Zachary Goyer, Heather Snyder, Bridget Maxon and Jesse Goyer, and 13 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a grandson, Jacob Lamphere, her former husband, Lawrence E. Lamphere, and siblings, Bertha Rathbun, Jan Ward and Elizabeth Esposito.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 20, at 10 am in the Grafton United Methodist Church where Rev. Kim Kie and Rev. Trygve Tomlinson will officiate. Spring interment will be in the Grafton Center Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to the Thomas M. Barber Funeral Home, 66 Armsby Road, Petersburgh, on Friday from 4 to 7 pm for visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to either the Grafton United Methodist Church or the Grafton Historical Society in loving memory of Hilda G. Goyer.
