Hoosick Falls Wrestles Mt. Anthony On Senior’s Night

Monday evening was Senior Night for the HFCS Wrestling team. Before the varsity match senior wrestlers Keith Davendonis, Matt Fogarty, Jordan Robichaud and Jacob Pearson and the team’s senior bookkeeper, Kathleen Grogan, along with their families, were honored by the fans.

At 152 pounds, HFCS’s Brad Burns defeated Mt. Anthony’s Brandon Schaefer 10-2. In the second match senior Matt Fogarty, at 160 pounds, defeated Jason Welch 13-4. Then the all powerful, undefeated (14-0) Mt. Anthony of Bennington, VT, took over. HF forfeited three matches as they had no wrestlers in the 103, 112 and 130 weight classes. Mt. Anthony won seven matches with pins and one with a score of 9-0. The final score in the non-league match was 64-8. Hoosick Falls is 3-11 for the season.
On Saturday the team will participate in the Class C Sectionals in Granville.
