Jane Vogler

Hoosick Falls – Jane Vogler, 81, died on Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. Jane was the wife of Charles “Ray” Vogler and a resident of the Hoosick Falls Health Center for several years. Jane and Ray were married on July 14, 1951.
Born on August 1, 1928, in Hoosick Falls, NY, Jane was the daughter of the late Daniel and Beatrice (Hayes) Dougherty. She graduated from Hoosick Falls High School, Class of 1945, and Troy Business School. Jane worked for Bill Andrick at his picture studio and was a legal secretary for the John Davison Law Office, both in Hoosick Falls. She later worked at the Hoosick Federal Credit Union for thirty-three years and where she was the office manager for twenty-one years. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Hoosick Falls and loved to gamble – playing cards with her Thursday night card club, playing the horses, using slot machines and buying lottery tickets.
Survivors, other than her husband Ray, include a daughter, Patty Post and husband Rodd of Eagle Bridge, NY, sons, Steven E. Vogler and wife Karen of Grafton, NY, and William Vogler and wife Suzanne of Ledgewood, NJ, four grandchildren and three step grandchildren. She is pre-deceased by a brother, Daniel Dougherty.
Funeral services are Friday, February 5, at 9:15 am from the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street. Burial will be at 1:30 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hoosick Falls Health Center or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad through the funeral home.
