• Hug-A-Bye Babies – Thursdays, February 11, 18, and 25, at 11 am; age appropriate stories, songs and movement activities for the Library’s youngest patrons and their parents.
• Coffeehouse Night – Friday, February 5, at 6 pm; featuring the music of singer/songwriter Linda Worster; light refreshments will be served.
• Carve Your Own Stamp/Make Your Own Valentine Card – Thursday, February 11, at 7 pm; Trina Porte will teach how to carve a rubber stamp and then use it to make cards, wrapping paper or just about anything else. $5 materials fee. Advanced registration recommended.
• Preschool Pajama Party – Friday, February 12, at 6:30 pm; featuring a Valentine-themed movie for preschoolers, older children also welcome. Wear your PJs, bring your blankie; snacks provided.
• Bingo for Kids – Tuesday, February 16, at 2 pm; celebrate winter break with cookies, juice and prizes; for ages 5-12.
• Animal Tracks – Wednesday, February 17 at 2 pm; learn about track patterns, identify the animals that made them and make plaster casts of local animals in this workshop presented by the Columbia Land Conservancy; advanced registration recommended.
• To Facebook or Not To Facebook? – Thursday, February 18 at 7 pm; technology expert Marcia Mayper will present a workshop on the pros and cons of this popular social networking tool.
• Family Movie Night – Friday, February 19 at 7 pm; free showing of a current film for the whole family; call for title; popcorn provided.
• Poetry Group – Monday, February 22 at 6 pm; poets and aspiring poets are invited to come and share their work.
• Wow Wii! Games Night for Teens and Tweens – Tuesday, February 23 at 6 pm; bring your games and your appetite (pizza provided!); the Library will provide a Nintendo Wii, Rock Band 2, Beatles Rock Band, Wii Sports, Dirt 2 and DDR.
• Author Reading – Thursday, February 25 at 7 pm; in observance of black history month, authors Jana Laiz and Ann-Elizabeth Barnes and illustrator Jacqueline Rogers will read from and discuss their book, A Free Woman on God’s Earth: The True Story of Elizabeth Mumbet Freeman, the Slave Who Won Her Freedom; Q&A to follow; light refreshments will be served.
• Paws-to-Read – Saturday, February 27 at 9 am; therapy dogs come to the Library and children read to their furry friends; and, of course, the dogs listen! Please call 518-794-8844 to register.
