News From The Grafton Everett Wagar Senior Center

February 19, 2010 By eastwickpress

submitted by Elaine Snyder
Close to 70 people enjoyed the special Valentine roast beef dinner February 11. They were entertained with music performed by Floyd Smith and Laurie Nickerson. The craft raffle Valentine basket was won by Laura Masterson.
The Center has Craft Day once a month on the second Wednesday at 12:30. This is sponsored by Fidelis and the Center. The craft is organized and taught by me and Jan MacDonald and is free to anyone who wants to participate. The craft is simple and usually takes 10 to 20 minutes to complete. At our last Craft Day we made Valentine cards and door hangings, not only for ourselves, but for those who get home delivered meals.
The next Craft Day will be March 10 and March 31 to decorate hats for a Hat Parade to be held after dinner on March 31. Just bring your own hat (baseball cap, straw – any kind is welcome). You can decorate them at home or with us at the Center if you need help, ideas or things to put on them. Prizes will be awarded during the Hat Parade. Come join in on the fun.
Our next Craft Raffle, which goes to help sponsor our monthly craft, will be a basket for Easter.
