Petersburgh Sgt. Works At National High School All Star Game

February 5, 2010 By eastwickpress

Army Staff Sgt. Jonathan N. Colon was part of a support team made up of soldiers from throughout the Army for the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.  The Army sponsored the nationally televised football game played on January 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.
This was the Army’s 10th year as sponsor of the high school all-star game that pits the best players in the nation against each other in an East versus West contest.  The soldiers’ support ranged from coordinating events with players and soldier-heroes to providing media coordination, hotel accommodations and organizing and orchestrating pre-game activities.  In this year’s match-up, the West team managed to outscore the East team, 30-14.
Colon, a healthcare recruiter, is assigned to the 5th Medical Recruiting Battalion, Houston, Texas. He is the son of Noel Colon of Rt. NY 22, Petersburgh. The Staff Sergeant is a 1995 graduate of Garden State Academy in Tranquility, NJ.
