On Saturday, February 20, the newly formed Friends of Cherry Plain State Park (FCPSP), is hosting an outdoor Winter Fun Day. The event will run from 10 am to 3 pm adjacent to the Cherry Plain State Park entrance on Miller Road in Berlin. The event will offer outdoor activities as well as snacks. Members of the Friends will be on hand throughout the day to direct and guide small parties ready to head out into the various areas of the DEC’s Capital District Wildlife Management Area. The final schedule of activities will depend on snow conditions. There will also be a warm fire, hot chocolate, hot dogs and marshmallows for roasting.
Please come with your outdoor equipment and winter clothing. This free event has limited parking so please consider car pooling. The Friends of Cherry Plain State Park thank the Town of Berlin for plowing a loop near the Park’s entrance to allow for parking.
Come on out and make your own fun as you join other outdoor enthusiasts. For further information or offers to help the event, please call Dick Gibbs at 283-0155 or Liz Wagner at Grafton Lakes State Park, 279-1155.
